Big if true. But Nvidia is very strategic, moving up the value chain and integrating the whole datacenter-as-a-computer. You have to consider the total cost of training or inference. Nvidia can essentially capture the lifetime TCO cost difference between it and the closest competitor. On some tasks like inference and simpler pytorch jobs that don’t need a datacenter competitors will catch up.
