There is a paid SaaS service, and the code only open enough to hop on the open source bandwagon and claim that maybe in a pinch if the SaaS service got enshittified enough, another roach motel SaaS might compete.

I think this means you can use another AI to examine the state of your LLM, measure how confused it is, how much it's just guessing, how well defined, peaked, or broad the distributions are from which it samples the next token. And then use a 3rd AI to check the second.
