Scarlett Johansson: How dare you lie to me like that? - X (formerly Twitter)
You have existentially threatening lawsuits from the NY Times and all the creators on the planet who accuse you of building an imitation engine stealing others’ work. Now, every time you disingenuously claim that you go the extra mile to avoid infringing on IP, people can point to this as an example of where you went out of your way to imitate someone who refused to agree to terms, and bragged about it, tweeting that your demo was ‘Her’. AUFKM? And then your story is, after you got turned down, you just happened to use a different actress using her natural voice who happened to sound like that? Just comically bad judgment and lack of integrity. If only there were some kind of smart assistant that could tell you when you were doing something stupid.

Vaporware to blunt Google's Astra demo, which was just hype bait anyway, also won't be working like that anytime soon b/c real-time video understanding is not that good, would cost $5 an hour, plus privacy issues.

Seems useful to search for that thing you saw last week, also might make it easy for enterprises to use AI to check if you are online working or just using a mouse jiggler to look available in Teams. The thing they did right is requiring high end AI compute so they can run stuff like this locally, will probably actually work, unlike Astra or OpenAI’s demo.
On paper the Snapdragon Elite X is more powerful than Apple’s latest, but I think Windows on ARM will be wonky for a while until all the apps catch up, and competitive Intel/AMD x86 products are at least 6 months away. I think Apple controlling the hardware may have allowed them to make Rosetta x86 emulation better. M4 probably still has a lead, Apple putting in a strong bid to get TSM 2nm fab before rivals. But the rest of the world is catching up.
